PV 600 to connect by RIO with SLC 5/04

Hi. I would like to communicate PanelView 600 by RIO (Remote I/O) with SLC 5/04.
On the laptop I use RSlogix500, communicating with RS232 (RSLinx DF1 driver).
The SLC504 L542 CPU is connected to the PanelView 600 with Belden cable.
I need to set up the pass through way, but dont know how.
Can someone help me?

A SLC5/04 has a serial port ( 9-pin) and a DH+ port(s) only.

The 3 pin and 8-pin (round port) are DH+ only, they do NOT support RIO protocol.

As with your SLC5/03, your SLC5/04 will need a 1747-SN Remote I/O Scanner to connect to your RIO PanelView.

I have the 1747-SDN C, scanner, but is the DeviceNet scanner.
So, you say I would need the Remote I/O scanner...
In the manual I was reading that the 504 CPU can take the RIO,
I thought that will be able connect using the DH+.
My other CPU is 503, that one can't use it for this.

DH+ and RIO are 2 different protocols. Your PV does not talk DH+.

My other CPU is 503, that one can't use it for this.

It can with the 1747-SN.

Just a quick thought: You may be able to get a 1747-SN off ebay for a pretty decent price. It may be cheaper to do it that way. IF you have the room in the chassis for the card.
