I am getting started with programming a GE 9030 using Cimplicity Machine Edition. I must admit this is the most confused I have been on what software to use etc. etc.

Anyhow after having all that sorted out, now I cannot make heads or tails of the programming editor or the addressing. Any tips on where to start? A good manual, sample programs etc.?

Appreciate all the help in advance. Thanks.

I dont have Cimplicity so cant advise on its interface but I have LogicMaster and VersaPro, the instructions will be the same.

One thing to understand about the 90-30 when doing Hardware config the slot doesnt impose the addressing...ie you can establish the I/O addresses yourself.

This is an instruction set manual: http://www.geindustrial.com/support/documents/gfk0467m.pdf

The manuals for Cimplicity Machine Edition:

GE Fanuc support:

Just want to add my 2 cents here. Before you get to crazy with your code and such, make sure you go to the GE web site and get the latest service packs. This wont make understanding the programming better, it will make the GE software work better.

Hope this Helps

Cimplicity ME

Start with CD number 2, it has Flash movies with detail step by step of most of the major parts.

Try to get your hands on an infolink CD. I'm sure your distributor can get you one. The part number on the CD I have is 44A736735-002R21. There may be a newer version but I doubt much of the informatoin has changed.

Most of this information is available online but having the CD is a little more convenient.
