Hi Guys,

I have opened my Studio5000 before on Virtual machine and now I don't have access to the VM using Vsphere and hence I Remote desktoped to VM.

The issue is now when I try to open studio5000 it asks for logon to Factory Talk network directory...which I haven't configured and I don't need.

But to resolve this issue I tried to configure FT network directory using FT Config Wizard but it fails with (exception from HResult 0x80049006 error) i.e. User authentication failed, even though I am domain admin. local directory configuration successful though. still ask to logon to Ft network Directory when open studio5000 ;)

This has to do with security features, see technote #468494

You will have to have console access (need to use Vsphere) to the VM and configure network security settings in the Factory Talk Administration console to basically identify RDP sessions as if they were from the local console. The technote is pretty straight forward.

When I updated to the new FTA I had to go to the Factory Talk Administration Console and somewhere hidden deep was a setting to "Allow Anonymous Login" that then it would open without a password (that didn't exist.)
