what is "old"? if it's talking about simatic manager it's a little too old.
but a lot of basics about s7 programming still apply in v12/v13 though the software itself is almost totally different

What PLC are you using? As wimpiesplc said, a lot of the basics are the same, but many things have been simplified in the new software.
Check out the 1200 easy book for a free resource. The 1500 can do even more, but this should go a long way towards getting you started.
