Tisoft v7.1 and XP

Evening all.

Looking for a bit of advice from some of the "old" hands used to working with Tisoft.

I've got Tisoft v7.1 installed on an older laptop running XP (laptop is 1.6ghz cpu coupled to 512mb ram - nothing exotic) and while I can go online to a 525 or 545 processor without any issues - I cannot open any existing plc saved files offline so cannot see the program or comments etc.

All I get is the "memory exceeds total memory size" error.

(The various files I'm trying to open had been created with older versions so I have converted them using Ticon and this has worked fine with no issues reported.)

I've tried running in compatibility mode etc and tweaked some of the settings in the pc5rt exe as suggested on some info found on the net but no joy - still the same memory exceeds error.
Any suggestions at this stage?

Hello, do you have an issue with sending me the program to see if it can be opened at my end?

If you can get(or have) a copy of 505Workshop, that may be a viable alternative.

thanks again for the replies. Sending the program isn't an option but it does open fine on an older dos based laptop (very old - 386 processor!) so I know it opens ok. I can also open it on another workmates laptop running v7.1

As for the 505 workshop, to be honest it isn't really worth the cost. I was just trying to get the tisoft to run on a slightly newer laptop I had lying around as a "just in case" one of the other laptops packed in.
