Mitsubishi e1101 Modicon quantum Connection problems

Hi Everyone, Im trying to connect a Mitsubishi e1101 HMI to a modicon quantum controller. I am really struggling to get it communicating with the plc. the problem is almost certainly with the cable we are trying to use. we need to connect over an RS232 Cable but have tried endless pin configurations but are yet to have any luck. any help would be much appreciated !

The manufactures document above states the following:
To use the E-series RS232 cables for E1000-series, the adapter CAB12 has to be used!

The pinout should be 2-2, 3-3, 5-5. Jumper 4-6 and 7-8 on the Quantum side.
