Good morning, i have step7 10.5 basic that works fine with 1bd30 cpu, but it seems supporting only old cpu.
now i would buy a 1bd40 cpu, but the cpu is not listed in step7.
will it works? is there an upgrade to support that cpus?

Step 7 V10.5 is old (and buggy).
The current release is V13, soon to be replaced with V14.
You don't include the full catalogue number of the processor, but from the partial number you give, I am guessing it will be firmware version 4.
Time for a software upgrade.
