Using an NPN sensor for two different PLCs

This may sound like a stupid question but I feel like I should ask before giving up.

I have an older PLC which control a step conveyor. I want to add a few engines with an additional small PLC. The sensors installed are NPN which fit (I guess) the old one. The new PLC I got requires PNP input. Attached you can find a diagram for implementing NPN with a 10Kohm resistor.

Is there a way to do this with these two different PLCs? If not, just out curiosity, can I do it with two PLCs which both require NPN?

If the PLC input is PNP, the resistor needs to be small enough to trigger the input. Try 2700
Ohms. That will give you about 7-8 mA.
Yes to second question. You can drive two NPN inputs in parallel.

you can mix them as the only important thing is the presence or absence of 24 Volt.

For both PLCs to see the sensor the reference for the input groups must be connected together and to the appropriate side of your 24 VDC power supply.
