Hi,

I have an application where I need to us an RS232 printer to generate a ticket containing the following info:

Date & Time
Serial #
User Input Field (text string up to 8 chars)
Tag Value (floating point in the format XX.XX)

I have been looking at something like the Zebra GK420d Direct Thermal Desktop Label Printer, but I have not used one before.

Can anyone recommend a printer which they have setup with an S7-1200 before?

Thanks,

Kind of old but useful application.
You S7-1212 has a DP interface? If so, you need a DP/RS232C gate way to communicate with RS232 printer(e.g. any Zebra with RS232)
Then you send ZPL code via DP/RS interface, then you will get your lable from printer.

1200 has a built in Ethernet (PN) interface, not DP. RS232 modules are available, that would be an easier route than a gateway, I'd imagine.

Can't recommend any specific models, though.
