Hi

I'm searching for a cheap and easy way to create reports with an S7-1200 system.

It's for in-house needs so i'm open for dirty but creative sollutions as long as it works :)
It's for a testing equipment we're building that will quality test a product we have.

We want a report to be printed out automaticly on paper after each test cycle (about every 10minutes) so that they can be supplied with the product and then also need to store the values in digital form for our own use if needed.

I have lots of experience with plc & small op-panels but reports, printers etc is totaly new to me and i don't really know where to start.

Can a simple KP700 comfort panel do all this for me? it seems to have some sort of reporting system and logging but it's hard to say without having the hardware. I'm open for any sollutions as long as i can use siemens as plc.

The above link may help with your question on if a KP700 comfort panel can print your reports.

Personally, I would use AdvancedHMI. Using the Modbus TCP communication driver to communicate to the PLC. AdvancedHMI uses visual studio to run. Code then then be used to save the information to a database. Printing can be done easily as well.
