Hi,

Been using DLR for a number of years now, mainly to connect up HMI's in the field using a combination of copper and fibre ETAPS, recently started using PV Plus 7 with duel Ethernet ports where distance allowed, the system has performed flawlessly for years. To monitor the nodes I pick up the clock from each HMI and monitor the change etc. again no issues with this.
I was looking to add some extra network monitoring so took a look at the Allen Bradley Diagnostic Faceplate and imported the code into the PLC and the graphics etc. into Studio ME however I can't get it to work correctly, I can see all my nodes on the ring but IP & MAC addresses appear as ????????? however they are visible within the PLC.
Talking to other colleagues who have used it have the same issues, has anyone had any success with it?

Thanks Wayne

What exact version you are using? (3.001 or 3.002)
3.002 is relatively recent update.
What happens if you go to the Supervisor or Node tabs?

I suspect that you did not set the path correctly.
It needs to point to any node on the network ending with an IP address.
Are you getting any MSG errors?

If you post your code and network diagram here, I should be able to help.

I just re-tested ver 3.002 with PV+7 Pro ver 8.0 and I don't see any ?????
I also tested it to older PV+ ver 5.1

So it would help to get your application (both HMI and ACD).

I recall that somebody pointed while ago that you need to have language set to US English before the import of any GFX files or Text will not show up correctly.

Eureka!! It was all down to the import language, deleted the imported files, change language to US English re-imported and it now works.

Thank you for you help

I am glad this is resolved, because I recall seen this before :)

This behavior is from FT Studio and affects all faceplates, not just this one.
It is caused by the language switching functionality expecting texts for every language that is defined in your application.

As for DLR Faceplate - make sure you are using the current version 3.002 that corrects some minor anomalies and adds many device icons.

There is also Windows-based "DLR Tool" that has a very similar functionality but does not require an HMI shell.

Again thanks for your help, yes I'm using version 3.002, I'll take a look at the windows version, may have a use for that somewhere too.
