I'm trying to use the clock but I can't seem to get it to start.
I click on set time/date but nothing happens am I missing some thing .

Going from memory but did you purchase a real time clock [RTC] and plug it in to the front of the unit?
HTH

No RTC module needed with the 1400. Are you online with the PLC when you hit the "Set Date & Time" button? It won't work if you're offline.

What kolyur said + it automatically goes on its own, you don't start it.

Under the Set Date & Time button does the next button say Enable Clock or Disable Clock? The clock may be disabled.

Like Kolyur says, I think that you have to be ONline.
Look under Controller: Function Files
