IDEC Cable Extend

I have a machine with an Idec Open net controller in it. It has a FC2A-KC4C cable between the PC and PLC. I need to relocate the PC. Does anyone know if it will work if I buy a male to female serial cable to extend? I'm just wondering if the length will affect it.
 
I dont have any or the pinout but it looks just like a RS232C so you should be good up to 30ish feet... I would just get a 25 ft DB9 and give it a try

pinout for serial to Din 8pin cable for idec PLC
