My company custom makes their cables, and I've worked for other companies that do the same, and we have some failures in the field.
I contribute most of these failures to poor cable end construction. I have made cables before I know they can be a pain.

Do you guys run into this issue at all?
Also are their any easy make connectors that are more foolproof that still work well in industrial settings
(I've seen some but they don't look very well grounded)

This tool along with the special feed through connectors have changed my feeling about doing a task I used to hate:

No longer is it necessary to try to get all 8 wires the exact length and all inserted simultaneously. Just strip them back 2-3 inches, insert 1 wire at a time, then let the tool crimp and trim.

I have probably made close to 100 connectors with this tool and yet to have a single bad end.

Most of the time we are using these connectors together with Lapp ETHERLINE® Cat.6A H, had no problems whatsoever with them. All you need is a small wirecutter, maybe some pliers.

We tried Harting connectors but they are a royal pita... I think none of the crimping type connectors that we tried would support the large cable diameters.

What really matters is to test each connection, not only for wiring faults but actual traffic performance. We don't have to certify the network cabling for our customers but it's nice to have a report of the results after initial installation.
