I'm trying to connect to a 1769-L33ER CompactLogix PLC through a VPN.
When I'm on the same network, everything works great. I can download code within ~15 seconds or so.
When I switch to a different network and VPN in, it takes >20 minutes to download code, and then performance is very poor when I'm online with the machine (the mouse slows down, and it appears to be constantly thinking).
I'm connecting on the VPN with Local Area Connection 2, and obtaining an IP of 10.242.2.6, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.252.
The PLC has an IP of 10.1.10.246, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.
I used RSLinx to change the Ethernet driver to the VPN IP.
I am able to ping with average replies in the ~200ms range.
Netstat tells me I've got two active TCP connections from my IP (ports 61178, 61220) to the PLC (44818, twice).
I'm using Studio 5000 v21.00 Mini Edition
The PLC is a 1769-L33ER CompactLogix 5370 Controller Revision 21.11
I've done a bit of googling now, but haven't found anyone who had an answer or even the exact issue -- maybe my search terms are bad, or I'm a bad googler.
Anyone run into this?
