Upgrade from XP on Versaview/Panelview Plus CE

Has anyone tried to update the windows XP on a AB Versaview/Panelview +CE. Or am I going to have to replace the whole unit.

Our IT group is unhappy that we still have WinXP devices on the network. I am not sure if they can handle Win7 since ours only has 1GB of Ram.

If anyone has done this could you let me know what you upgraded to and how it runs?

If it's really a "PanelView Plus CE", then they are running Windows CE of one version or another, not Windows XP.

Those terminals have a boot partition that decompresses the operating system every time they start. Not only are they underpowered for running Windows 7 or Windows 10, it would be very difficult to get such an OS to run on the base hardware.

Now, the "VersaView" computers are just desktop operating systems. You can upgrade them if you like, as long as you license the new OS properly and the hardware can support the new OS.

IT departments have to live with very, very long life cycles for computers on the factory floor.
