Omron Host Link question

I have an Omron Sysmac C28K PLC with a 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Host Link Unit on it, I am able to connect with SYSWIN 3.4 without issue. I also have an Omron Sysmac C20H PLC, it does not have a Host Link Unit on it, I power it up and have no errors, to use the 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Host Link Unit, the manual call for using a console adapter C200H-BP001 or C200H-BP002, it seems like this is only so the 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Host Link Unit can be secured with screws, I am able to plug my 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Host Link Unit in directly, but I get an error LED and I am unable to connect with SYSWIN, I get a SYSWIN Communications Error “No response from the PLC”. My questions are 1. Do I need the console adapter C200H-BP001 or C200H-BP002 or should the 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Host Link Unit work plugged directly into the Omron Sysmac C20H PLC? 2. If 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Host Link Unit should work plugged in directly, what do I need to do to get SYSWIN communications working? Any help is very much appreciated, thank you.

The C20H uses a different Host Link unit.

The 3G2C7-LK201 is only for the C20 flat pack and C**K units.

C20H would use Host Link 3G2A6-LK201-EV1.

Just a heads up, the C**H units were discontinued in 2002.
