I am new to plc ladder logic. I would like to construct a program that would turn on a motor for 15 min each hour and off for 45 min each hour and continue this routine until power is removed from motor. Can someone tell me how to write such a program?

Just simply use a timer which starts to time when power in applied. Make the Preset 15min and use the DN bit of timer to turn on motor. Also, use another DN bit to reset your timer after 15min.
You also wanna have start and stop buttons for your motor.....
