First time working with a Quantum PLC and have only done one other MODICOM project using the Momentum PLC.

Customer has spec'd Quantum not an exact CPU. The project is pretty small, nothing complex just a simple RO system.
For the CPU I was thinking the 140 CPU 31110 as for a communication module... this is where I'm a little lost. I have to be able to connect a GE iFix HMI and two VFD's either yaskawa P1000 or Altivar ATV600. My first choice was the 140 NOC 77101. Is there better choice?

Thanks

End of life and end of commercialisation plans has been announced for Quantum and Premium, is there any particular reason why you have to use Quantum instead of the M580 ?

This RO is going to be a pilot/study system so they can troubleshoot a larger RO that isn't working to well so they want the pilot controls to match the existing system. Reduced learning curve and possible easier to implement changes in existing system based on what they learned from the pilot.

Sorry, whats an RO ?

If its a pilot system for them to run diagnosis on against an existing system then surely you want to use whats on the existing system ?

Regardless of what hardware they have the Quantum will be end of commercialisation on December 1 2018 so at some point they are going to have to suffer the learning curve, probably best to not suffer that when they have to replace a CPU they can't get......

RO: Reverse Osmosis
Exactly the current system uses a quantum plc

Had a 2-pass RO system using Quantum controller. It was removed probably 5 years ago, but had ethernet communications via a data aquisition server to a WW display. I was given the opportunity to strip the controller, but never did.

The system that replaced it is a 100gpm 2-pass from GE, that was spec'd with AB equipment. Making it much easier than the dated MODsoft program for troubleshooting.

I might be able to go through some of my old programs and look up the cpu.

Just found out today I can use a M340 which is nice but that will double my AI modules since the max density is 8ch on the X80 I/O

Thanks but don't worry about it... pretty much all I do is program ROs so I have program part down it's just the modicon hardware that I'm not sure about. Just hoping to avoid the "you should of used xxx"

If possible add a NOE card to your config. Then use IO scanning to the atv6000. On the HMI I cant help much as I have never used those screens
