Hello everyone,

I have recently purchased a 1762sc-IF8u module for a Micrologix 1400 plc.

I have spent the entire day trying to get the unit to read proper inputs and have failed so far, I figured I would join this website to get some possible solutions.

I currently have two inputs that I am trying to read with the module.
1. RTD (3 wire w/o comp), 100 Pt 385
2. 4-20mA Vacuum Sensor (Range 0-5mmHg)

I have written the following bit settings to the respective output words:
RTD = 0100010001000100
VAC = 0001000000000000

All the dip switches are in the "current" position according to the manual picture.

When I wire up the RTD I get a value of -541. When I wire up the 4-20mA signal I get a full signal (when it shouldn't be, cross checked).

Is there something I am missing regarding the configuration of this module?

On the RTD input I would set the dip switch to "non-current".

You have the current input set to fail upscale (on open circuit), I would double check your wiring.

Contact Spectrum Controls tech support, they are very good about sending samples (that are not on their site) and helping you figure it out.

That was part of my problem after I spoke with Tech Support.

I contacted them and they eventually got me all straightened out!

Fix for RTD:
1. Set the dip switch on channels 0-1 to "non-current"
2. Have the same output word for channels 0-1

Fix for 4-20mA vac sensor:
1. Set the dip switch on channel 2 to "non-current"

Thanks everyone! 🍺
