hi guys,

is there a way to "clean" RSview32 from double or unused tags,

my ethernet connection is beginning to get very slow and there is only one SLC5/05 a RedLion panel and two computers connected to the system,

we do have 1890-something tags

any help on boosting up the network is appreciated,

thanks,
Mathias

Sometimes, a good way to clean out a database file (Note: no brand name mentioned) is to export it to a .csv or spreadsheet file. If you have a spreadsheet program, it will let you diddle with the database a LOT more because it doesn't have the security features of a database. You can do mass edits of tags (including delete) without clicking each tag one-by-one, and then import the file back in.

If you're deleting tags, you'll need to completely wipe out the original database (if that can be done) before doing the import. Otherwise, you'll only succeed in updating existing tags. So, SAVE YOUR WORK AND DO A TRIAL RUN FIRST if possible. Toss the spreadsheet file when you're done. You don't want to see what can happen if you use a spreadsheet program to manage a database!
