GE Proficy Historian - Scripting (VBA)

Hi guys,

This may be veering off the 'automation/PLC' path a little...but has anyone had experience with interfacing excel with Historian Servers by coding with VBA?

I'm trying to create an automatic process where I can click a macro button and it will automatically search and return a set of tags and additional information for each tag. From what I've seen so far, I need to make an API call and utilize one of the .dll files...although that's all the information I can really find.
