PV550 Communications

I have a PV550 2711-T5A2L1 with DH485. I have the 1747-UIC on my Windows XP laptop. My sketchy notes say to use RS-232 DF1 Driver, 1770-KF3/1747-KE Device, CRC, 1 Stop Bit, Full Duplex, Do Not Auto Configure. However I failed to write down what cable I used. I've looked through my cable suitcase but don't see an obvious cable to use. Anyone have a clue what I need. I must have it as I've done this in the past. I need to download a program from one PV550 and upload to another one for a backup.

I also have a small rack with a power supply and a SLC 5/03 processor...

I have a 1747-C10 SER B and a cross over Ethernet cable.

1747-C13 is the one...

Please note the difference between the C10 and C13.

So I need to make a RJ45 straight through cable with pins 3 and 6 not connected to connect from the 1747-UIC to the PV550?

Is the 1747-C10 the cable to connect the PV550 to the SLC5/03?

Argg this is so frustrating... I made a pass though cable with pins 3 and 6 missing and used a Cat6 connector so I could make sure I had the wires in the right spot. I could not see the PV in RSLinx.

Finally got to the setup screen of the PV550 and Node: 2, and Baud: 19200. There is an error "Required network node(s) not found" on the communication setup page of the PV550.

I followed KB G75736127 DF1 passthrou to DH485 PV but still can not see the PV in RSLinx. S34/0 and S34/5 are 1 and S34/6 is 0.

And some help on using the passthru for your SLC. (check the firmware to make sure your SLC supports passthru)

Is the firmware OS302? Where do I see what firmware supports pass through?

The second pdf I posted above.

But if the PV is not talking to the SLC passthru is not going to work.

Double check cables, node addresses and baud rates.

I don't get it... I went to the industrial park plugged into 3 different PV550's copied programs and came home and plugged into my PV550 and bam it is there... must have been doing something stupid in my frustration lol.
