Connecting PLC with a Fanuc Robot 200IC

Hi everyone

I have a project which is connecting PLC to a Fanuc Robot Arm 200IC.

1- What kind of PLC should I use?
2- what are the hardware components should I buy for connection?
3- Is there a file can describe the map of connection between PLC and a Fanuc robot arm?

Here are a few questions that need to be answered.
What are the communication protocols that the robot uses? (Communication cards already on the robot?)
How do you want to communicate?
What are the distances between the robot and PLC?

You can go for profibus ..
I`ve worked on a casting line with siemens plc and fanuc robot

Lots of choices here. Hardwired signals, Profibus & Profinet (Siemens), Ethernet/IP & Devicenet (Rockwell), Ethernet Global Data (GE), etc.
