1788-CN2FF guide from experience users?

Hi,

I'm working on a tender which includes 1788-CN2FF module.

I'm not sure what special configuration software & hardware that we need. Does anyone here can guide?

I know that 1 CNET can support 64 nodes. 1 unit 1788-CN2FF can support 2 H1 FF or total of 32 nodes in FF. So in CNET is consider 1 node or 32 nodes?

Hi, does anyone here can help? Tried to chk with Rockwell, no engineers there had any experience in this item.

There are only a handful of Rockwell support engineers who are absolute experts on that module and they are in Cleveland, OH USA. A-B's Automation Fair is also going on today so quite a few A-B experts are out of the office.

I have used the 1788-CN2FF module a little bit. It needs special configuration software for the Fieldbus side which can use RSLinx to "drill down" to the module and the attached Fieldbus devices over ControlNet.

The 1788-CN2FF appears as just one node on the ControlNet (which can handle 99 nodes, not 64, by the way.). Scheduled I/O connections to Foundation "data exchange blocks" in the module are how I/O data gets to and from devices on the fieldbus H1 networks.

The software is part number 1788-FFCT, but it's not a Rockwell Software product, rather it is just resold by RSI. I think the current version 2.3.5 is available directly from National Instruments.
