Simatic S7-300 Interface Module

Dear All,

I used Simaticn s7-300 CPU 314 (6ES7 314-1AF10-0AB0)
Also I brough device SIMATIC S7-300. INTERFACE MODULE(6ES7 365-0Ba01-0AA0)

What is this function ??

does it use to connect different CPU ?

OR does it use to connect different I/O Module with different rails?


Moreover I have bought many I/O Devices so they cannot linked together in one rail(6ES7 390-1AF30-0AA0) . How can config and connect the i/O devices in other rails to the main CPU?

The S7 300 mounting rails have a maximum of 11 slots. Since slots 1 -3 are reserved for the PSU and the CPU, this means you can mount up to a maximum of 8 I/O modules on the rail. If you need more I/O than this, then you must add more mounting rails (up to a maximum of four in all). To couple these together you need can use either the IM360/IM361 combination if you need more than one extension rack, or if you only need one extension rack, the cheaper IM365s.

You don't say how many I/O modules you've got but if you need more than one extension rack then you must use the IM360/IM361 combination.

There are a couple of restrictions with the IM365 - the power for the extension rack comes from the CPU rack, so make sure the PSU is properly sized, there is no connection between the K-Buss of the extension rack and that in the CPU rack, so you cannot use a CP or FM module in the extension rack.

The 365 card is used to connect more than 8 cards to an S7-300. The first 8 are connected directly, but for more you need an interface 365.
You must insert it in the STEP7 - HWConfig software, in the slot number 3 of the main rack and insert another rack as secondary. Then you can plug more cards on this new rack.
