error: address must be specified to the word level!

I am using a subtraction function in rslogix 500 pro. It is giving me the error in the title. I have Source A: C5:0 and Source B: C5:1. I can't figure this out. Can anyone help me with this?

here's a link to the SLC instruction set that shows word & bit level addressing.

on pg 1-6, it shows word 0 of the counter file as being internal to the counter. Word 1 is for PRE and word 2 is for ACC

C5:0 or C5:1 is the counter .ACC = Accumulator Value .PRE = the Preset values
so
C5:0.ACC - C5:1.ACC

Destination would contain the difference of the two counters accumulated values.

Aye,

you need to use at the word level ..

C:0.PRE or C5:0.ACC - if it is a sub instruction, then you will be using the ACC value.
