Hoi,

I'm having the following problem.

I'm using a S7-315-2 DP PLC in combination with the Wonderware DA server (Dassidirect)

When I physicly disconnet the S7-315-2 DP PLC from the DA server, The connection of the DA server to the disconnected PLC hangs (freezes) in 10% of the disconnections.

When I do the same test with a S7-414-3 PLC I never have a problem.

Does anyone else have a problem with S7-315-2 DP PLC in combination with DA server DASSIdirect of wonderware.

Remark:
Of all the software used I have installed teh latets patches:
- Wonderware Intouch 8 SP2 with Patch 2
- DaServer 1.1 patch 1

Thanx already.

What kind of interface 'das' DA server (Dassidirect) uses ?
ProfibusDP, Ethernet/Socket or what ?

The DA Server uses Ethernet (TCP/IP).
That is the only one available for Siemens S7.

Seems to be OPC-Server, so it don't work with S7-315-2 DP or there is some configure 'thing' for S7-315-2 DP with firmware x.

No, you can use it as an OPC-server.
The DA servers are the new I/O servers from wonderware.
These servers support the ArchestrA architecture.
However you can use them as I/O server for Intouch (7.11 or higher)
to gather data from the PLC. In our case we use the DASSIdirect server for S7.
You can find all the info yo want at:
http://www.wonderware.com/support/mmi/esupport/docs/di/DasSIDirect.pdf

The DASSIdirect server requires no middleware like Siemens Softnet.

In the DASSIdirect server you can create connection to your PLC's
Now the problem we have is that sometimes when disconnecting a S7-300 PLC physically and there are write actions on that PLC, that specific plc connection hangs.

It is only on S7-300 PLC's, Doing the same intensive testing with a S7-400 no problems occur.
The connection that hangs is a TCP/IP connection. So it has nothing to do with Profibus or wth sover.
Mabey it is more clear that we have CP cards on the PLC's
For the S7-315 2 DP that is the CP343-1.
On the PLC nothng goes wrong.
On the PC where the DA server runs, the connectiong hangs.

FOUND IT.

I have had some responce from WonderWare:

The released version of DASSIDirect has an issue where communication may
not come back when a PLC is disconnected then re-connected. This only
happens to S7-300 PLCs and not S7_400 PLCs which sounds like the
customer's issue. We have a hotfix available for this issue. The Change
Request is L00030191.

So I need the Hotfix or I have to wait for a Patch or Service Pack.
