Changing RSLinx from a service to normal application

I have been using a laptop connected to a SLC 5/04 via the DF1 comm port. I can remove the DF1 driver and replace it successfully.

However when I try and replace the DF1 driver with PIC it returns a message that the RSlinx is running as a service and must be restarted as normal application.

Can anyone explain how to do this please. The laptop is running Windows 2000.

Open the "RSLinx Launch Control Panel" application in the Program Menu.

It lets you start and stop RSLinx as a service, and a tick box defines whether it is run as a service or not.
