Yes but it depends on what you want to do w/ it.
Just start/stop via digital i/o and feed it an analog speed ref, no worries.
 
Ordinary discrete I/O should be fine; you'll need relay outputs or 24V DC outputs on your MicroLogix, since the PowerFlex 525 doesn't have 120V AC discrete inputs.

The MicroLogix 1000 has no ability to do network messaging to a PowerFlex 525.
