I know this is a plc site, but I thought
some might like to work on this. It has to do
with reversing a single phase motor with a
manual 3 position drum switch. Hint you will
have to add one jumper to the switch to
make it work. :site:

I new you would get it bernie. When I left
the plant this evening the electricians were still throwing paper in the trash can.

I have used this circuit many times in my seventy years. If the switch is closed in the forward position then rapidly changed to the reverse position without allowing the motor to slow down or stop, Which way will the motor run?

He`s another if you have a 2 speed single phase motor 4 pole and 6 pole windings. How many poles does the start winding have

Why Thomas, if it works, it obviously has "enough" windings!
