Hi,

I have to do a low budget project.

I have to control 4 MM440 frequency drives on profibus. And the speed and torque can be set on an Operating Panel OP3.

The CPU seems to our biggest cost.

We always buy 315-2DP CPU's, the 6ES7315-2AG10-0AB0.
But they cost 1275 euros.

How about a
PART NO: 6ES7 312-5BD00-0AB0
DESCRIPTION: 312C Compact CPU Module
- MPI port
- 16KB Memory
- Integral I/O = 10) DI & 6) DO
- MMC Required
PRICE: $540.00

Can they be used for Master PLC's to MM440 drives ? Are they slower, what is less good about these CPU's ?

It's a stand-alone project btw

Greetz

how about

6ES7312-1AD10-0AB0 is even 286 euros

and 6ES7312-5BD01-0AB0 is 370 euros...

are these usefull for my project ?

i need

i need a profibus DP port, these CPU's don't have that as far as I can see...

1275 euros is to much, aren't there cheaper CPU's with a DP profibus port, that's my question, greetz

Hi Combo.

There is the 313C-2DP (6ES7 313-6CE01-0AB0). It has 32kB RAM, an MPI port, a DP port, 16 digital inputs and 16 digital inputs on-board. It is approximately 1000 EUROs.

edit:
A project with 4 MM440's on Profibus doesnt sound so low-cost to me. Are you sure that you want to cut costs like that ?
If you have standardised on the 315-2DP, then having to stock just one spare 313C-2DP will nullify the savings.
If on the other hand, you are talking about mnay projects with this setup, then it could pay off to try and cut costs.

wel,

2 has DP onboard, it has memory onboard ? and 16 I/O

that's all we need...

Why is the 315-2DP so expensive ?

This one is a really good piece, thnaks foor your help

Why is the 315-2DP so expensive ?
It has 4 times the memory of the 313.
Actually, I find the 315 not so expensive. I am standardising on the 315-2PN/DP for my smaller projects.

edit:
scratch that about the 315 being faster than the 313.
It is the 312 that is slower than the other models.

do u have to use profibus?

What about using an s7 200 with uss protocol which is a standard protocol for the drive i guess

MicroMaster do support USS protocol.
But I dont know if S7-200 supports USS protocol directly.

I would start a new thread to get responses from someone ho knows about S7-200 and USS.

As the example uses an S7-200 in connection with a MicroMaster and USS, then it certainly looks like USS is possible with S7-200.
It could be the lowest possible cost for controlling a MicroMaster from a PLC.

However, I think that for combo it would mean a major change of direction to switch from S7-300 to S7-200.
