We have dc motor with following data (unclomplete name plate):
Field:
Amp: 1.12 Volt: 200
Armature:
Amp: 0.6 Volt: 400
How to defini motor horse power? We need Reliance Flexpak 3000 dc regen drive for above motor.
Any idea?
Thank you.

The simple method would be to use the 400 volts and the .6 amps to find the right drive. The data sheet on page 6 lists voltage and current. http://www.reliance.com/prodserv/standriv/dc/flexpak/lit/d2882.pdf

You sure it says .6 amps, that would be only 240 watt motor, using simple equations you would divide 240 by 746 which would say 1/3 HP. To explain I got watts by multiplying .6a and 400v which game me 240 watts to obtain HP you use 746watts (which equals 1HP) to divide into 240...ie 1/3HP....a FlexPak 3000 would be overkill for that.

If you are mistaken and its actually 6 amps then you are looking at approximately 3HP.
