I forget what the official maximum is, but in my opinion the limit is 3 maybe 4, and even then the communications can be sluggish. A lot depends on the amount of data transferreing from the PLC to each Panelview. You have to keep in mind that DH485 is a serial connection, so it has limited throughput.

The maximum number allowed by the DH-485 specification I believe is 31 but as Mr. Moore has pointed out, the reaction time will be sluggish.
