A Question about the PICO 1760-L12BWB

Hello,

I'm new to this forum, so bare with me.

I am working with a PICO controller, the 1760-L12BWB Series A. I have run into two problems:

What I have done:
I have written a program that controls an HVAC unit and a RotoPhase Motor using inputs from a thermostat.

Problem 1:
I cannot get the "P Buttons" checkbox to become checked. Everytime I check it in the "Communication" tab, the error, "The operation was rejected by the device (REJECT!)" pops up.

How do I get the PICO to accept it?

Problem 2:
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to edit Displays on this one. I am afraid that this PICO does not have editable displays. I did look in the Manual, which seems to say otherwise as it shows 16 "D" contacts for the L12xxx.

I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks ahead of time!

As far as #2, I believe you have to have the PicoSoft PRO software to configure the displays.

to edit the display,you need a 1760-L18 model...the others don't have that function. As faras setting the P-Buttons, try the project tab in the software...hope this helps.

The Pico User Manual says on Page 6-1 that if a password is set, then the P-buttons are not active.

Also on page 6-11, it says [Quote]: "Even though the cursor buttons (P-Buttons) have been set as push-button inputs in the program, this function is not activated automatically. This prevents any unauthorized use of the cursor buttons. The P-Buttons can be activated in the System menu. If Pico is password-protected, you cannot open the System menu until you have unlocked Pico.


The P-Buttons are activated and deactivated via the P BUTTONS menu option:
1. Press Del and Alt to select the System menu.


2. Select the SYSTEM menu.
3. Move to the ’P’ menu option" [End Quote]


Also, more change options are available in the STOP mode, than in the RUN mode. It says that: "All circuit diagram parameters can be adjusted in STOP mode via the circuit diagram. Setpoints can be modified in RUN mode via the circuit diagram." This implies that it RUN mode, some parameters cannot be changed.
