SLC500/5 & Telesis comm with Ethernet...

Hello all,

This will be a very general question at this point... I have a project starting in a few weeks. I would like to know if anyone has used SLC500/5 with ethernet to pass ASCII to a Telesis 3200 (there is an additional ethernet box that will connect) or simular model? Or maybe this is not feasable... I was told by the Telesis suplier that this should be possible with MSG statements in the PLC, however he could not give me to much to go on...

You have to use the serial port in the PLC, but for this you have to change the configuration of the port to ASCII and the download this file to show you to communicate with the Telesis (you will need ControlLogix 5000 to open the file) link : http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=36514
