Rockwell Activation Question

Hi folks,
i am looking at changing my laptop for a new model, but as many of you know they dont often come with floppy drives now.
Will a usb floppy drive work with the activation keys for Logix/Linx gateway/Emulate or will they have to be installed over a network?
