Step7 online to CPU314 via ethernet

Hi all,

I am having problem to go online to CPU 314 via ethernet. There is a CP 343-1 attached to this cpu.

I am working with a PC running on windows 2000 SP 2, Step 7 version 5.1 SP 2.
I would like to go online to cpu 314 via ethernet.

I am not sure the exact software to use. I tried with
the NCM S7 industrial ethernet V5.1 SP2 and
IE Sofnet V3.3 but unable to go online.

Do I have to set anything on NetPro?

Online to CPU300 via ethernet

Hi guys,

I actually working on a pc that was crashed. This pc was used to go online
to the cpu from Step 7 for troubleshooting purpose.
The softwares that was installed earlier was
IE Softnet S7 3.3
NCM S7 Industrial Ethernet V5.1 SP3
NCM S7 Profibus V5.1 SP3
Simatic Net S7/SR OPC server 2.2
Step 7 Version 5.1 SP 4



My current software installed is as mention below:

Hardware
S7300
CP 314-1

IE Softnet S7 3.3
NCM S7 Industrial Ethernet V5.1 SP3 +hotfix 1
NCM S7 Profibus V5.1 SP3 hotfix 1
Simatic Net S7/SR OPC server 2.2
Step 7 Version 5.1 + SP 6

I already set the NCM S7 Industrial ethernet V5.1 SP 3 + Hotfix 1 and
configure the ethernet (Ip address).

Can anyone guide me on software setting.
I did go through the manual and it seems that there are a few ways of setting. With the
above softwares can you tell me the sequence of the configuration. (What softwares must be configured?)
So far I only configure NCM S7 industrial ethernet with the IPs and all
according to the manual but when I go online The message stated that


Window title : Display Accessible node
This function is not supported by the online interface that is set.

PG/PC Setting : TCP/IP -> Broadcom 440x 10/100 and its working fine. (I am using normal Ethenet card)

Previosly this pc was configured with standard ethernet card to go online.

Do I have to add this pc to the netpro to the ethernet? Do I have to set the
OPC server?

I really appreciate if someone can help me on this. I need to set up the pc urgently.

Maybe you can upgrade STEP7. From v5.2 and up there is integral ethernet support in STEP7 with no need for Simatic Net software.

With Simatic Net software it is also possible to get STEP7 online with ethernet. Unfortunately I have never tried it myself. I believe you have to set up a socalled "PG/PC station".
Not sure how that works with v3.3 of Simatic Net. The latest version is Simatic Softnet "2005", and the one before that was "v6.3" so your software is a bit old I'm afraid.
