Melsec Fx-64mr-ds

Just acquired machine from Germany with a Mitsubishi MELSEC FX-64MR-DS PLC. We have SWOPC-FXGP/WIN-E V1.10 software on our laptop, but can't interface with the logic controller. We're using an RS-232 cable in Comm Port 1....FXGP/WIn loads up, we select PLC/Program Read....PLC Type Setting/FX2N...OKAY....Reading....then we get a Communications Error. Do we need a converter for the RS-232?

I think you need a SC09 intreface lead it has a RS 232/RS 422 converter.

Thank you for the reply. I'm trying to locate the conversion cable now...but it seems to have grown legs and walked out of the plant site.

If you search for SC-09 on this forum you'll find a ton of info on them. I know that 'roll your own' schematics have been linked to several times.
