SICK Scanner to SLC5/05 over Ethernet

My question is can I recieve data from a SICK CLV430 scanner using a CMF400 card to the Ethernet port on the front of the PLC. Several people have told me that it can be done but I have not quite figured out how to tell the PLC where to look. If someone has done something like this before a sample of the code set-up would be very appreciated.:nodi:
