i have been given rs logix 500 and a floppy which contains the key. However my laptop is of the newer type i.e. np floppy drive. can i copy the key using my desktop floppy drive to a flash drive and then use the flash drive on my laptop? Will rslogix 500 work with windows xp professional(or home 0)

Also, if you have a desktop PC available you can share the floppy drive. Then attach the laptop to the network and map drive Z to the shared floppy. Then you can install the activation in the normal manner.

I think it depends on the version. I am running Logix500 V7, my previous version was 6, and these both run under WindowsXP Professional, but not WinXP home. I think there's a page on the AB website stating the compatibility issues, but I don't have the URL. Somebody else???
