Does anyone know of any information on how to read data from a PLC without RSLinx or another third party ActiveX control? I'm trying to figure out how to code something to read data from an Allen Bradley PLC (Logix5555). I can not find any information on how this is done.
 
Protocol called Ethernet/IP - it is a Ethernet implementation of CIP protocol (common industrial protocol).Find it at ODVA.ORG

it is not a DF1.
