Profibus Communication 555-1106 with S7-224

I'm working on a project for a Drinking Water Plant which has a single Simatic 555-1106 PLC for automation.



A small control panel (with an Siemens S7-224 CPU and an EM227 Profibus DP module) will be added to automate some valves that are part of a proprietary system.



The Owner would like to pass timer setpoints to/from the 555-1106 and the S7-224 using Profibus communication.



The 555-1106 has a Profibus DP port on it. I've used this port in other plants (several years ago) to connect with remote I/O bases and with VFD's. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to use it to talk with other PLC's. Can I use Profibus DP for this with the 555-1106 acting as the Master? Or do I need to use Profibus FMS?

The EM227 is a Profibus-DP slave module; all you need to do ic configure the in/out data table (the addresses you want to contain the exchange data with the 555 CPU) with ComProfibus:

Then export the binairy file from ComProfibus and Merge it in the 555-1106 program.
