Hi, thanks for hosting this site, I have found many answers by searching the forums here. I'm new to siemens and don't want to buy hardware randomly poking in the dark hoping that it works.

I have the option of 2 cpus to use, a plain 313 (6ES7 313-1AD03-0AB0) or a 315-2DP (6ES7 315-2AF03-0AB0) my project will use <20 DI, <10 DO, 2 analog inputs and I'm plan to use a CP343-1 to upload snapshot values of the two analog inputs. Fastest cycles would be 50-60 seconds, I need to store the data in either Excel or a database on a standalone laptop mounted to the machine.

Would there be any drawbacks to using the 313 instead of the 315-2DP? Most of the setups I see on the forums here use the 315-2DP with the CP343-1.

Thanks in advance.
