Dear Experts
We are using prosoft 35302-DFNT-MCM4 cards. Our requirement is to get some serial RS 485 data & to use it with Controllogix .
At contrologix end we are using 1756-ENBT/A cards. Foe me it’s a new card before that I already worked on 1756-MCM & 1756-MCM cards .They were really wonderful & easy to use. I am on a plant & it's very urgent to do this so I will need your prompt help.
I had installed configuration utility equipped with this module then open its file & assign it 192.168.2.100 IP 255.255.255.0 subnet mask & 192.168.2.10 default gate way to match with 1756-ENBT whose IP is 192.168.2.152 with same reaming setting. I had connected with my PC through serial port of PC & Debug port of Card. I had downloaded it into module.
Now I Configure RSlinx Remote devices driver in Rslinx & give 192.168.2.100 address in servers name tab. Now it is in running condition in Rslinx.
Now I come to Rslogix 5000 & as I want to read some data I am implementing message command. I m using CIP read data table then in communication tab I am writing Enet,2,192.168.2.100.An error is occurring stating" Failed to set path value to 192.168.2.100,Module could not be found"
So I had following queries
- I had to use Port 1 & Port 2 for my serial network?
- where I am doing a mistake?
- Whether I will be needing to add this card in RSlogix 5000 software for message command?
- Is it possible to get data using 1756-EMBT or ENET is must?
- Whether I had to configure port 2 & 3 as Slave or master (as my requirement is get serial data from some devices through this card & then from this card to bring it to controllogix?
- I had two cards of same model so how I can simulate that my cards are working fine, I mean any way to simulate data just like Modscan utility?
- Any exemplary lab session guidelines(Except user manual) just like I had for 1746-MCM?
As a summary I will be needing a summary of steps from yourr side to configure this card
