Go to http://www.rothenbacher-gmbh.de/.
They have an ActiveX for MPI at a reasonable price. I dont know how good it is.
Also consider http://libnodave.sourceforge.net/. It is an open source library. It is not ActiveX, but it should work with VB.
There are several other alternatives. Some of them are good but also expensive.
