Lets look at your question:
I'm a Electrical Student and was wondering if any knows how to program a sequencer?
The obvious answer to that is YES, the way you phrased the question there is but one answer...YES with no other answer needed. Many if not all (excluding me of course) of these people do this for a living so have to know how to do certain things and sequencing would be one of those.
With that said there are other things to consider, WHAT PLC are you going to use to do the sequencing? Each plc offers different instructions or paths to follow to do a specific function.
Many of the people here are EE's with some experience behind them. The first thing they know NOW, a feature of hindsight, is that college is meant to teach you to THINK, this with the information gathered, allows you to formulate a plan. The first step, as I stated, is to gather information. This may mean reading books, looking on net, or asking questions. The first rule is to THINK about what you need then ask SPECIFIC questions or read SPECIFIC books etc to find that information.
Do not take this RANT in the wrong way please, its not meant to criticize. Many of us are engineers or work closely with engineers. IF you want to be GOOD engineer then some things you have to learn WHERE, WHEN and HOW to find the information. THIS involves asking the RIGHT or specific question of the RIGHT people, many here are the RIGHT ones for this question if phrased properly.
END RANT
My specialty is finding info on things like this.
