hi got a magelis telemec touch screen hmi that on occasion the screen shows nothing but xxxxx has any body come across this.

The xxxx (in red if it's a color Magelis) indicates that it's not talking to the PLC. If it comes and goes I'd suspect a bad cable. I've also seen that on an ethernet screen connected to a PLC that had too many connections into it from the network.
