Anyone know about it?
Picked up a couple of EDS files off of AB.com, and V16 firmware was available.......

V16 due out in September.

One of the biggest features will be automatic tag generation for DeviceNet paramameters, similar to what's currently available for ControlNet and EtherNet/IP.

Ver 16 scheduled for September I think.

EDS files are always posted ahead because they are mostly copy of older version.
As for firmware, where did you find it.
I see v15 only.

Devicenet tag generator is AVAILABLE NOW in ver 15 and RSnetworx for Devicenet ver 7

Biggest feature will be Used Defined Instruction in ladder.

Devicenet Tag Generator is a part of RSnetworx v.7 download and working with ver 15

The news from the RA technical training sessions last week is that October 2006 is the target release for v16. EDS files are probably up on the website because there are a lot of beta units out there.

Don't be confused by the DeviceNet Tag Generator utility; it's very handy and has the net effect of generating predefined tags, but it's not internally as simple as the CNet and ENet I/O profiles (but covers many more types of devices). I'm using it today with RSNetworx v7.

The big features in V16 are the Add-On Instructions and the new FactoryTalk Alarms & Events instructions.

I plan on having an "AOI Summit" in early November to investigate and promote AOI with my big integrators, so that everybody gets the most from it, especially as regards connecting AOI's to RSView Global Objects.

I'm not going to get too excited about the firmware release until I see it in the wild.
