I want to connect a Micrologix (not sure what model yet... probably 1100 or 1200) and a PanelView 300 Micro together but also be able to program both units without swapping any cables. (Keep in mind that the PV Micro is not available with a RS485/DH485 port; only RS232/DH485.) I am looking at an arrangement similar to the following:

hmi_layout.jpg

except that I will replace the second 1761-NET-AIC (on the left) with a 1747-UIC, and use a 1761-CBL-AS03 cable to connect the RJ45 port on the UIC to the Phoenix plug (port 3) on the first AIC. Then I can connect the UIC directly to my computer via USB. This seems like it should work since both connections are RS485/DH485, but I haven't seen any reference to doing this in Allen-Bradley's literature. Does anyone have any experience with this setup?

Thanks,
John

Hi,

I have 2 1761-NET-AIC+ modules and used the same type of configuration as above. Both ML1500 & PV300 is working fine in the first module but when i connect my PC on the 2nd module, my rslinx can't locate the plc and panel view nodes. One thing i noticed is that the led of DH-485 port not activated.

Please help. Thanks
